Shane R Roder

Shane Richard Roder Sr., age 66, of Schoenchen, Kansas passed away May 25, 2026 in Schoenchen. He was born April 9, 1960 in Spencer, Iowa to Charles and Eloise (Peterson) Roder.

Shane grew up in Iowa graduating from Sioux Valley High School where he played football. He was a farmer and in construction most of his working career. He enjoyed being outdoors, trapping/fishing, keeping his grass mowed and tending his garden. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and enjoyed watching sports.

He is survived by three sons, Shane Roder Jr and Kelly of Victoria, Kansas, Skyler Roder and Ashley of Carroll, Iowa, and Payden Roder and Sydney of Palo Alto, California; two brothers, Shannon Roder of Marathon, Iowa and Charlie Roder of Livermore, Iowa; a sister, Angie McCleary of Cave Springs, Arkansas; ten grandchildren and his beloved dog Billy.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration gathering will be held July 25, 2026 starting at 1:30 PM – 4:00PM at the Legion Hall in Sioux Rapids, Iowa.
