Obituary



Patty Louise Herrman, age 63, of Hays, Kansas passed away Thursday, November 25, 2021, at Hays Medical Center. She was born May 2, 1958, in Hill City, Kansas to Virgil and Mary (Metheny) Deringer. She attended school in Goodland, Kansas and earned a bachelors degree from Fort Hays State University. On July 9, 1988, she married Leland Herrman in LaCrosse, Kansas.

Patty was an auditor for the Department of Education for 33 years. Patty was very involved with her family and particularly her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Leland of Hays; a daughter, Terra Niehoff and husband Brandon of Shawnee, Kansas; three sisters, Jo Ann Deringer of Denver, Colorado, Doris Luna of New Braunfels, Texas and Betty Flanagan of Peoria, Arizona as well as two grandchildren, Emma Osborne and Jace Niehoff.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM January 8, 2022, at St. Michaels Catholic Church in LaCrosse, Kansas. Inurnment will follow in the LaCrosse City Cemetery.

Memorial visitation will be January 8, 2022, 10:00 AM until service time at the church.

Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital or HaysMed Hospice. Contributions made payable to the organization may be sent in care of Keithley Funeral Homes PO Box 86 Hays, KS 67601.
