UPDATED SERVICE INFORMATION

Joseph Francis Weber, age 95, of Ellis, KS, passed away peacefully November 18, surrounded by family members keeping vigil by his side during his final days. Joe was born January 19, 1925, to Joseph L. Weber and Catherine T. (Jacques) Weber. On August 24, 1948, he married Mary Alice Befort in Ellis, KS. They had 3 sons and were married 67 years until Mary died (2015).

Joe attended St. Marys Grade School and graduated from Ellis High School in 1945. Farming for five years before embarking on a career in the oil industry, Joe started as a roughneck and retired 1986 from Abercrombie Drilling as a Drilling Supervisor. Joe was a co-owner of W & L Dirt Construction. In his younger years Joe loved to fish, hunt coyotes, and golf. After retiring, Joe was a passionate pinochle player, enjoyed coffee breaks with friends at Arthurs and driving to see his farmland.

Survivors include three sons: Tom and wife Libby of Ellis, KS, Patrick and wife Cindy of Shawnee, KS, and Dean and wife Patricia of Crowley, CO; two grandchildren, Scott and wife Shelly of Mulvane, KS, and Krista Weber-Schneider and husband Jeremy of Wakeeney, KS; and one sister, Rose Marie Blasing of Herington, KS.

Joe and Mary also had seven great-granddaughters, Shea Harper (Fort Myers, FL.), Brooke Weber (Wichita, KS), Allison Schneider (Wakeeney, KS), Emma, Macy, and Haley Chambers (Mulvane, KS), and Olivia "Little Libby" (Crowley, CO) along with numerous nephews and nieces.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary Weber, grandson Brandon Weber (infant son of Patrick), brothers Alfred "Fritz" and Francis "Bud", sisters Helen Kohl, Theresa Weber, and Catherine Flagler.

Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted (Matthew 5:4). Special thanks to Trego County-Lemke Memorial Hospitals healthcare team for your kindness, compassion and wisdom.
