Irene Dinkel age 90 of Victoria, Kansas, died Tuesday, June 23, 2020, at Via Christi Village Care Center in Hays, Kansas.

She was born April 15, 1930, in Gorham, Kansas to Joseph P. and Katherine (Schmidtberger) Dreiling. She married Elmer J. Dinkel on January 7, 1947, in Victoria, Kansas. He preceded her in death on September 18, 2003.

She was a nurses aid, and worked at St. Johns Rest Home in Victoria for over 25 years, was a senior Companion for 15 years. She was a member of The Basilica of St. Fidelis. She grew up and attended school in Gorham, Kansas. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, embroidering, crocheting, and did a lot of cooking.

Survivors include three sons, Ronald Dinkel and wife, Diane, Victoria, KS; Robert L. "Bob" Dinkel and wife, Connie, Victoria, KS; Larry A. Dinkel and wife, Sandy, Hays, KS; two daughters, Carol Lamoste, Troy, MI; Mari Rauch and Billy Rauch, Victoria, KS; one sister, Norma Hammerschmidt- Durante, Medicine Lodge, KS; one daughter-in-law, Linda Dinkel, Wichita, KS; one former daughter-in-law, Eva Newell, Wichita, KS; 14 grandchildren, one step-grandchild; 15 great grandchildren and three step-great grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter, Wanda McInerney; one son, Steve Dinkel; one son-in-law, Rufino Lamoste; one great granddaughter, two brothers, Raymond J. Dreiling and wife, Doris; Richard V. Dreiling; two sisters, Eleanor Hammerschmidt and husband, Albert; Lidwina Hammersmith and husband, Herbert.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 26, 2020, at The Basilica of St. Fidelis, Victoria, Kansas. With inurnment in St. Fidelis Cemetery, Victoria, Kansas.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 P.M. Friday, at The Basilica of St. Fidelis

The family suggests memorials to The Basilica of St. Fidelis or Via Christi Village-St Johns Chapel.
