Genevieve Margaret (Smith) Brown, age 98, of Hays, Kansas passed away Thursday, November 25, 2021, at Via Christi Village, Hays. She was born September 10, 1923, in Mitchell County, Kansas to Joseph and Elizabeth (Feil) Smith.

Genevieve graduated from Tipton High School in 1940. On September 2, 1946, she married Melvin "Bob" Robert Brown in Beloit, Kansas. He preceded her in death on August 18, 2001.

She was a secretary and receptionist at King Financial Services for many years. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Hays, a 75-year member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha the international community service sorority and a member of the Hays Daughters of Isabella.

Genevieve is survived by her daughter, Patricia Frost and husband Wendell of Renton, Washington; sons, Roger Brown and wife Kathy of Oswego, Illinois, and Steven Brown of Hays; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; as well as a sister, Mary Ann Roberts of Beloit.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Thomas.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Friday, December 3, 2021, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Hays. Inurnment will be at 3:00 PM at St. Johns Cemetery in Beloit.

A Daughters of Isabella rosary will be said at 9:30 AM on Friday at the church.

The family suggests memorial contributions to St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital.
