Elmer L. Lundstedt, age 85, of Ellis, Kansas passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at Hays Medical Center. He was born August 18, 1935 in Jamestown, Kansas to Leeman and Ethel (Bailey) Lundstedt. In August of 1959 he met and married his sweetheart, Deanne Sue Dillon, in Hutchinson, Kansas.
Elmer was a newspaper printer and worked for the News Chronicle in Scott City, Kansas for over 40 years. He delivered newspapers for 20+ years in Ellis for the Hays Daily News. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals fan, and was very active in supporting and attending his grandchildren's sporting events. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, and spending time with his family. His most cherished time was spent serving and assisting the Kansas School for the Deaf and the Deaf Community Culture.
He is survived by his wife, Deanne; daughters: Rita (Randy) Phillippi of Lawrence, KS; Tracy (Melvin) Kinderknecht of Ellis, KS; a sister: Ellen Nickel of Scott City, KS; ten grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother: Clifford Lundstedt and a sister: Esther Miller.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Christ Lutheran Church in Ellis. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Ellis. Elmer's services will be live streamed via: https://www.facebook.com/Christ-Lutheran-Church-111688785534530
