Obituary



Calvin Joseph Schumacher, age 70, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2021, in Hays, Kansas. He was born May 15, 1951, to Paulinus and Luella (Kuhn) Schumacher in Hays.

Calvin worked as a security guard. He enjoyed playing pool, especially at Shooters Billiards, competitive pistol shooting, skydiving, and he was a Tennessee Squire with the Jack Daniels Distillery.

Calvin is survived by one brother, Jay (Karen) Schumacher, Victoria; two sisters, Tonia Houghton, and Kenda Anderson, both of Hays; four nephews, Jeremiah Schumacher, Curtis Koerner, Chase Anderson, and Jacob Houghton; and one niece Kara Evins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services will be 11 AM Saturday, September 11, 2021, at St. Josephs Cemetery, Hays. A celebration gathering will be 10 AM until service time at Brocks-Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory 2509 Vine Hays, KS 67601.

Family suggests memorial contributions be made to HaysMed Hospice.
