William "Billy" Loflin

William David "Billy" Loflin, age 82 of Ellis, passed away Thursday, May 6th at Hays Medical Center. He was born on March 10, 1928 in Hays, Kansas to William F. and Ruth (Dunham) Loflin. He graduated in 1946 from Ellis High School. He married Virginia Armbruster on July 28, 1955 at Christ Lutheran Church in Ellis.Billy was a farmer and drove a school bus for WaKeeney School District for over 25 years. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Ellis, Hays City Sportsman's Club and the National Rifle Association. He is survived by his wife Virginia of Ellis; two daughters, Tonya Keller and husband Ernie of Ellis and Geraldine Jamison and husband Milton of WaKeeney; a sister, Esther King of Ponca City, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Nicholas Keller and wife Carmen of Hays, Kassandra Irwin of Ellis, Daniel Irwin of Hays, Kevin Keller of Ogallah and Brian Keller of Hays. He is also survived by two nephews, Royce and Phillip King and two nieces, JoAnn Paschal and Shirley Voran.He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Harry, Glenn and Carl and a sister, Edith Hazlett. Contributions are suggested to Christ Lutheran Church or the Hays City Sportsman's Club.
