Wes Kandt

Wesley J. (Wes) Kandt, age 62, of Hays, Kansas, passed away March 13, 2023. He was born June 30, 1960, in Council Grove, Kansas, to Karl and Alice (Repschlaeger) Kandt. His family lived in 6 communities during his school years, and he formed many lasting friendships.

Wes worked for several years as a general contractor and sheetrock installer with Budke Home Improvement and Orth Drywall. After a serious leg injury, he retired from construction work and drywall and began working at Walmart in Hays. Wes was an avid sports fan, especially of the K-State Wildcats. He enjoyed playing golf, especially at the Ellis Golf Club where he was a long-time member.

Wes is survived by two brothers, Greg Kandt and wife Charmane, of Hays, KS, and Dale Kandt and wife Beth of Walsh, CO; nephews Toby, Derek, and Kendall, as well as nieces Taylor, and Keslie.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration gathering will be Saturday, March 18, 2023, 2 PM - 4 PM with services and sharing at 3 PM at Brock's-Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory 2509 Vine Hays, KS 67601.
