Vernon Ruder

Vernon T. Ruder, age 80, of Pueblo formerly of Hays, passed away Wednesday, July 28th in Pueblo at the VA Hospital of Pueblo. He was born on November 1, 1929 in Ellis County, Kansas to Alois and Rosa (Jacobs) Ruder. He was a retired US Army Veteran serving in the Korean War where he was an ammunition bearer and received the Combat Infantryman Badge. He is survived by a sister JoAnn Leiker of Arvada, Colorado. He was proceeded in death by his parents, 3 sisters, Merilda Dinges, Norene Nemecek and Ester Ruder, and his brother Victor Ruder. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, August 7th at St. Joseph catholic church in Hays. Burial will follow services in St. Joseph Cemetery with military honors by Ft. Riley. Visitation will be Saturday 9:00 A.M. until service time at the church. Arrangements in care of Brock's North Hill Chapel 2509 Vine, Hays. Contributions are suggested to St. Joseph Church and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
