Uberta Homburg

Uberta L. Homburg, 78, Ellis, died Thursday, January 22, 2009 at St. John's Health care Center in Hays. She was born on October 7, 1930 in McCracken to Joseph G. and Belva (Griffitt) Warta. She was a 1948 graduate of Ellis High School. She married Harold A. Homburg on November 4, 1948 in Ellis. He preceded her in death on December 15, 2007.



Uberta worked at the Ellis State Bank and later Trio Home Center. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and the Young Matrons Club, both of Ellis. Uberta shared her love for high school activities with her granddaughters including theater, forensics, cheerleading, track and field, volleyball, softball and swimming.



She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Mitchell and Addie Homburg of Fort Worth, TX, Kevin and Marla Homburg of Hays; granddaughters: Allison Patrick of Smith Center, Meggie Patrick and Abbey Homburg of Hays; two sisters: Patricia Schwening and Sandra Zernickow of Wichita; eight nephews and four nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
