Ted "Lucky" Burkart

Ted "Lucky" Burkart , 91 died Friday June 11th 2010 at Hays Good Samaritan Center. He was born May 16th 1919 in Moscow, Idaho to Frederick and Carol (Byrnes) Burkart. He has been a resident of Hays since 1945.He served in the U.S. Navy on the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Lake Champlain during WWII.Prior to his retirement in 1982 he was a Journeyman welder/pipe fitter.He is survived by a son, Tom Burkart (Darlene), Eureka, Montana, a daughter Linda Steffen (Dan) of Hays, grandsons Kevin Burkart of Denver, Colorado, Cody Steffen of Hays and three great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by a son Steven Burkart and a grandson Clayton Burkart.At his request no services are scheduled.
