Shauna Marie Snyder-West

Shauna Marie Snyder-West, age 42, of Hays, Kansas passed away Monday, December 15, 2025, at HaysMed. She was born March 22, 1983, in Omaha, Nebraska to Gary Snyder and Ortencia Garcia.

Shauna was a loving and selfless person who was known to watch out for her family. Her nieces and nephews held a special place in her heart, and she was often heard to say, “I Love You Sky Big.” Her fun-loving personality and contagious laugh were things that endeared her to family and friends. She was fond of reading quotes and loved to watch sunrises and sunsets and took numerous photos of both.

She is survived by her husband, Randy West of Hays; her mother and step father, Ortencia and Samuel Garcia of Hays; a daughter, Swaizea West of Hays; brother, Matthew (Neray) Garcia of Firebaugh, California; sisters, Jennifer (David) Hulett of Omaha, and Bridgette (Kevin) Garcia of Hoisington, Kansas as well as her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Gary; her son, Caiden Matthew West and a daughter, Navaeh Rose West.

Celebration of life services will be Saturday, December 27, 2025, starting at 11:00 AM. Services will be held at Keithley Funeral Homes and Crematory-Brock’s Chapel 2509 Vine Hays, KS 67601.

Memorial contributions are suggested to be used according to the wishes of the family with checks made payable to her sister, Jennifer Hulett, or to the funeral home.
