Sharon K. Gottschalk

Sharon K. Gottschalk, age 83 of Hays, Kansas passed away Sunday, March 10, 2024 at Via Christi Village, Hays. She was born October 7, 1940 in Gravel Town, Kentucky to Charles and Frances (Bollig) Wooldridge. On November 11, 1961 she married Ralph Paul Gottschalk at St. Joseph’s Church in Hays. Ralph preceded her in death on August 1, 2019.

Sharon was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who was full of spunk and a little ornery at times. Sharon worked as the office manager for multiple family businesses. She enjoyed dancing, reading, occasional Las Vegas trips with Ralph and watching and attending Kansas City Chiefs games. Sharon was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Hays.

 She is survived by her daughters, Kim Briney and Kelly Stiles of Hays; four brothers, Charles, Phillip, Bruce, and Brian Wooldridge; five sisters, Patricia Wooldridge, Barbara Obholz, Frances “Tudy” Wooldridge, Pamela Driskill and Nancy Schlyer; grandchildren, Nathan Briney, Shara Briney, Derek Stiles and wife Mireya and Kaley Stiles; and two great grandchildren, Emmie and Ensley Stiles.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Mary Lynn Gottschalk a son-in-law, Darin Stiles; a sister, Mary “Flossy” Winters and a great grandson, Eli Stiles.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Friday, March 15, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hays. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Memorial visitation will be Thursday 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM with a combined parish vigil and rosary service at 7:00 PM all at Keithley Funeral Homes and Crematory 2509 Vine Hays, KS 67601.
