Russell Switzer

Russell L. Switzer, age 95 of Dallas, died Nov 18, 2009 in Dallas. He was born in Ellis on December 1st, 1913. He served in the military as Major in the Army in charge of Troop Transportation. He graduated from SMU and received his Masters from Harvard University. He retired from ARCO as Vice President. He was a Member of Park Cities Baptist Church, Hella Shrine Temple, Scottish Rite and Masonic Lodge. He also was a member of the American Legion and Eastern Star in Hays.He is survived by 6 nieces and 6 nephews. Russell was preceded in death by his wife, June Koonze -Switzer in 1996, his parents, 4 sisters and 4 brothers. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at Keithley Funeral Chapel, 400 E. 17th, Ellis. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Ellis.
