Rudolph T. Waldschmidt

Rudolph T. Waldschmidt, age 87 of Ellis, passed away Monday, November 16th at Trego County Hospital in WaKeeney. He was born on February 8, 1922 in rural Ellis County, Kansas to John and Anna (Kessler) Waldschmidt. Rudolph graduated in 1942 from Ellis High School. He married Agnes Fisher on October 5, 1943 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ellis. Rudolph was a Farmer and oilfield worker. He worked for Dreiling Oil for 26 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ellis.He is survived by his wife Agnes of Ellis; four sons; Ronald (Diana) Waldschmidt of Russell, John (Linda) Waldschmidt of Victoria, Charlie (Verlene) Waldschmidt of Ellis and Pete (Sandy) Waldschmidt of Ellis; seven daughters; Connie (Ernie III) Fink of Ellis, Phyllis (Johnny) Richards of WaKeeney, Viola Fischer of Ellis, Judy Herman (Jack Carver) of Ellis, Paula (Howard) Befort of Ellis, DeeDee (Bruce) Dolny of Shawnee, KS. and Debbie (Randy) Herman of Ellis; 25 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Richard Waldschmidt, a grandson, Scott Waldschmidt, six brothers and four sisters.Funeral Services will be 3:00 P.M. Thursday, November 19th at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ellis. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday 4:00 - 8:00 and Thursday 2:00 - 2:30 all at Keithley Funeral Chapel, 400 E. 17th, Ellis. A rosary service will be at 6:30 Wednesday followed by a parish wake service at 7:00 all at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to St. Mary's Church, St. Mary's School or Ellis Good Samaritan Center.
