Rosina “Rosie” Ziegler, age 92 of Hays, Kansas died Friday, July 18, 2025, at HaysMed – Hays. She was born November 6, 1932, on the family farm in Pfeifer, Kansas to John and Paulina (Roth) Jacobs.

She attended and graduated from Sacred Heart high school in Salina. On August 10, 1957, she married Robert “Bob” Ziegler at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Pfeifer. He preceded her in death in 2015.

Rosie had a green thumb and maintained a vast garden full of a variety of flowers that brought beauty and warmth into her home. She also had an artistic side, enjoying painting and sewing in her free time. A favorite pastime of hers was golf, but nothing came close to the joy that was hers when she spent time with her family, especially her grand and great grandchildren.

She was a woman of faith, and a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Hays.

Rosie is survived by her children: Beverly (Craig) DuBois; Karla (Don) Ezell; Lori (Scott) Hancock; Janel (Russ) Ruder; and Roberta Ziegler (Phillip Padilla). Nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren, a sister-in-law: Ellie Heimerman, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded by her husband, Bob, brothers: Lee, Gene, Marcy, Adolph, and Florian Jacobs, sisters: Armella Schulte, Erma Chrnolagar, Marietta Hillenkamp, and Flo Beilman.

Private family services will be held with burial in the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery - Pfeifer, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to: Thomas More Prep-Marian Jr./Sr. High School - Hays and/or Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church - Hays, in care of the funeral chapel.
