Rose Massier, age 88, died Tuesday September 1, 2009 at BSA Hospital in Amarillo, Texas. Rose was born on September 23, 1920 in Ellis, the daughter of Joseph and Agatha (Gaschler) Weber. She married Edward Massier on November 5, 1941 in Topeka Kansas. He preceded her in death on May 6, 2006.Rose was a homemaker and a great cook. She was a member of St John's Lutheran Church and was active in many organizations in that church over her lifetime. She recently had moved to Craig Retirement Center in Amarillo Texas to be near her family. Rose was a wonderful mother and grandmother who will be sadly missed by her family.She is survived by her daughter Janice McFather and husband David of Amarillo, Tx, two granddaughters Tristin Krig and Stephanie Krig, both of San Antonio, Tx, and one great-grandchild Derek Krig, four sisters, El Bertha Dechant of Hays, Ks , Pauline Wagner of Great Bend, Ks, Betty Godfrey of Lyons, Ks and Janet Gagnon of Fairfax, Va and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Florence Johnson, and her brothers, John Weber and Ralph Weber.Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, September 5th at St. John Lutheran Church located 7 miles north of Ellis, Kansas. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Ellis.Visitation will be on Friday 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at Keithley Funeral Chapel, 400 E. 17th, Ellis. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. John Lutheran Church.
