Rosabel Flax, 64 of Ness City, KS died Wednesday March 5, 2014 in Abilene, KS after a 2-month battle with cancer. She was born January 9, 1950 in Hays, KS to Lucille (Dreiling) and Fred Flax.



Rosabel grew up on a farm north of Ellis and graduated from Ellis High School. She earned her Bachelor's at Marymount College and Master's at Fort Hays State University.



She spent forty-one and a half years dedicating herself to educating others. Throughout the years, Rosabel taught math and sciences classes in Marquette, St. Joseph's-Shawnee, Herndon, Palco, Plainville, Lacrosse, and Ness City. She was a principal in Plainville, Little River and Moundridge. Over the years Rosabel also taught classes for Colby Community College and Cloud County Community College. She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Ness City, KS, and Sacred Heart Alter Society, a Sister of St. Joseph Agrge and a member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics.



Survivors include her Mother, her sister, Paula Dinkel and husband Allen. Nieces Emily Gibson and husband Jason, daughters Delaney and Dakota; Wendy Dinkel and husband Ryan Conrade; and Macey Dinkel.



She was preceded in death by her father.
