Roberta June Hashenberger

Roberta June Hashenberger, age 86, of Hays, Kansas passed away Thursday, February 5, 2026 in Hays. She was born in Portis, Kansas on June 29, 1939 to William and Leeon (Griswould) McDaneld. On November 24, 1957 she married Vernon Gene Hashenberger in Plainville, Kansas. He preceded her in death in 2014.

Roberta was a loving wife, mother and grandmother whose family was very important to her. She enjoyed all kinds of crafts, particularly drawing and acrylic paints. She also enjoyed baking, especially wedding cakes.

She is survived by her sons, Ronnie Hashenberger and wife Donna of Hays, Jack Haschenberger of Hays and Terry Hashenberger and wife Robyn of Russel; her daughters, Kathy Crayton and husband Lester of Hays, Billie Jackson of Hays and Carolyn McElhaney and husband Edward of Hays; 14 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Kimmy Watkins and a grandson, Jimmy Hashenberger.

Graveside services are pending and will be announced by Keithley Funeral Homes and Crematory-Brock's Chapel 2509 Vine Hays, KS 67601.
