Rick E. White

Rick White, age 67, of Downs, Kansas, passed away on January 5, 2026, at HaysMed – Hays.

Rick was born on December 19, 1958, in Wellington, Kansas, to Blaine White and Marylyn Geisler. He grew up in the Downs area and attended Downs High School in Downs, Kansas, where he graduated.

Rick worked as a welder and was employed by Atkinson Road Boring Company of Derby, Kansas. A true jack of all trades, he had a natural ability to fix, build, and improve nearly anything. He especially enjoyed tinkering and working with his hands, a talent that defined both his career and daily life.

Rick loved the peace and quiet of fishing despite being one of the loudest humans that ever lived. He also loved animals and found comfort and joy in their companionship. He will be remembered for his hardworking nature, practical skills, curiosity, and his willingness to help whenever something needed fixing. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
