Richard O. Fries, 80, died Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Via Christi Village, Hays, Kansas. He was born in Ellis, Kansas to Richard and Anna Fries.
As lifetime resident of western Kansas, he spent a large portion of his life working in the food service industry.
He is survived by a daughter, Stacy Lane (Troy) of Knoxville, TN., a son Michael Fries of Minneapolis, KS. Richard was preceded in death by his father Richard Fries, mother Anna Fries (Hoffman), and sister Rita Slama.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the VFW Post 9076 Hays, KS.
Memorial services will be 11:00 AM Friday, May 29, 2026 at Keithley Funeral Homes - Ellis Chapel 400 E. 17th Ellis, KS 67637.
