Rebecca Laas

Rebecca Sarah Laas, age 91, of Hays, passed away January 12th, 2011 at the Hays Good Samaritan Center after a lengthy illness. She was born in Hoisington, Kansas on February 20, 1919 the daughter of Jacob and Mary (Schneider) Laas.She was a homemaker, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Dodge City and she was of Lutheran faith.She is survived by a daughter, Becky (Keith) Walburn, Maryville Missouri; Sons, Stan (Linda) Eberle, N. Las Vegas, Nevada. Terry Eberle, Alpine, California; a sister, Mary Bain, Ness City, Kansas; a brother: Joel Laas, Carson City Nevada; Sisters-in-law: Marjorie Laas, Hays Kansas, Jessica Laas, White City Oregon, Doris Boos, Hays, Kansas; Grandsons, Kent Walburn, Arvada Colo. Kristofor Walburn, Denver Colo. Sam Eberle, Alpine Calif. Stan Eberle Jr. Los Angeles, California. Layne and Lee Eberle, Wichita, Kansas. Granddaughters: Jessica and Marie Eberle, Alpine Calif. Great Granddaughters: Caitlin and Carmen Walburn, Arvada, Colo. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Emma Matkins, brothers: Sam Laas, Sig Laas, Emil Laas, Rudy Laas, and Jake Laas. Grandson Chip Walburn, daughter-in-law Veronica Eberle and nephew Shannon Bain.The family would like to thank the nursing home and Hays Medical Hospice for their loving care. The body has been cremated and a memorial will be held at a later date.
