Patricia Ann “Patti” Sellers Scott, age 73, of Hays, Kansas, passed away on July 20, 2026.
She was born on June 15, 1953, in Beloit, Kansas, to Orland Frank “Cobb” Sellers and Beth (Kuiken) Sellers.
In September 1978, Patti met and married James D. “Jim” Scott. Their life together began with music and dancing, as Jim took her to dance halls throughout central and western Kansas. Their marriage grew into a loving partnership filled with devotion to one another and their family.
Patti was a woman of deep faith who carried her beliefs throughout her life. She was devoted to caring for others, both personally and professionally. She spent more than 20 years at Fort Hays State University, where she led the Student Health program and helped care for generations of students. She also served as chair of the nursing department at Beloit Community College, sharing her knowledge and experience while helping prepare future nurses for careers of service.
When she was not caring for others, Patti could often be found cheering for her favorite teams. She was an avid University of Kansas Jayhawks fan and a loyal supporter of the Kansas City Chiefs.
Above all, Patti loved her family deeply. The time she shared with her husband, daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren brought her great happiness, and they remained the center of her life.
Survivors include her husband, James D. “Jim” Scott of Hays; her daughter and son-in-law, Jaymie and Casey Campbell of Centerton, Arkansas; and her two grandchildren, Connor and Jenna Kate Campbell.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Rick and William.
