Norman Bising

Norman Bissing, age 86, died September 3, 2010 at the Ellis Good Samaritan Center. He was born on October 3, 1923 in Hays, KS to Felix and Ann (Gallagher) Bissing. He married Effie Leiker on July 6, 1950 in Hays. She preceded him in death on March 26, 1996.He served his country proudly in the Navy during World War II. He worked for the City of Hays as a superintendent at the Water Treatment Plant and then retired from Travenol where he worked in the maintenance department. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.Norman is survived by his son, Darrell Bissing and wife Peggy of Hesston, Kansas He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl, and a brother, Don. The funeral will be at 10:30 A.M., Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the burial following at St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday 9:00 A.M. - 10:00 A.M. at Brock's North Hill Chapel Funeral Home 2509 Vine, Hays. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Hospice of Hays Medical Center.
