Norbert K. Leiker

Norbert K. Leiker, age 77, of Schoenchen, Kansas, passed away Saturday, April 24th at Hays Medical Center. He was born June 18, 1932 in Hays to Killian and Emma (Maiden Name ??) Leiker. He married Josephine Mader in Russell, Kansas on October 23, 1952. She preceded him in death on August 2, 1975. He married Lillian Zimmerman on October 20, 1977 in Schoenchen.Norbert was a Farmer and Bricklayer. He was a US Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict, a member of the Hays VFW and American Legion and a member of St. Anthony Church in Schoenchen.He is survived by his wife, Lillian of Schoenchen; four children, Lester Leiker and wife Jerri Ann, Terry Leiker, Neal Leiker and wife Linda all of Hays and Brenda Park and husband Dan of Olathe; six stepchildren, Linda Cole and husband Aaron of Russell, Loran Zimmerman and wife Jolene of Schoenchen, Bonnie Rose and husband Richard of Mobile, AL., Brenda Thyfault and husband Jim of Hays, Brian Zimmerman and wife Lori of Ulysses and Shari gale and husband Randy of Agra. 20 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren also survive him.He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Emil, Marvin and Gilbert.Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at St. Anthony Church in Schoenchen. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Hays. The Legion Riders will escort the funeral with military honors by the Hays VFW and American Legion.Visitation will be Monday 4:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. and Tuesday 8:30 A.M. - 9:30 A.M. all at Brock's North Hill Chapel 2509 Vine, Hays. A rosary service will be at 6:30 P.M. Monday followed by a parish vigil service at 7:00 P.M. all at the funeral home. Contributions are suggested toward the Norbert K. Leiker Memorial Fund to be designated at a later date
