Mildred Roth

Mildred E. Roth, age 87 of Ellis, died Saturday, February 28, 2009 at the Ellis Good Samaritan Center. She was born on January 13, 1922 in Niobirara, Nebraska to Otto B. and Josephine (Jones) Knudson. She married Clarence D. "Pat" Roth on August 12, 1952. He preceded her in death in 1978.She was a homemaker and had worked at the Ellis Good Samaritan Center and the Ramada Inn. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, AARP, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and other community organizations. She is survived by two daughters, Juanita Cunningham of Illinois and Shirley Shiltz of Ellis, a sister, Verna Severa of Arizona, three grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be at 1:00 on Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Ellis. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.Visitation will be Tuesday 6:00 - 8:00 with a vigil service at 7:30 all at Keithley Funeral Chapel, 400 E. 17th, Ellis.Contributions are suggested to the Ellis Good Samaritan Center and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
