Mildred E. (Millie) Werth, age 93, passed away Sunday, October 30th, 2022 at Good Samaritan Society in Ellis. She was born December 21, 1928 in Hays, Kansas to Martin H. and Teresa M. (Riehle) Orth. She married Richard R. Werth on May 24th, 1948 in Hays. He preceded her in death in 2004.

Millie graduated from Ellis High School in 1946 and then went to work for Southwestern Bell. She was a farm wife and worked in Custodial at Fort Hays State University for many years before she retired. She was a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church in Hays. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and canning. Millie was an excellent cook and baker. She loved making homemade noodles and home cooked meals for her family. She was an extremely hard worker who always put her children first.

She is survived by her son, Allen (Cheryl) Werth of Hays; daughters, Vivian (Bill) Zimmerman of Hays and Linda Werth of Oklahoma City, OK; a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Werth of Colby, KS; a granddaughter, Jessica Nichols; a grandson, Jason Werth; and two great-grandsons, Braydon Nichols and Trenton Werth.

She was preceded in death by her Parents; her husband; infant daughter, Margery; a son, George R Werth; a sister, Mary Ann, and a brother Leo.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Hays. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday 6 PM 8 PM and Wednesday 9 AM 9:30 AM all at Brocks-Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory 2509 Vine Hays, KS 67601.

A combined rosary and parish vigil will be Tuesday at 7 PM at the funeral chapel.

Memorial contributions are suggested to The Purple Leash Project, Kansas Honor Flight, or St. Josephs Church for Masses.
