Mildred "Millie" Schumacher, age 82, of Hays, Passed away Wednesday, June 23rd at St. John's Rest Home in Hays. She was born July 24, 1927 in Gorham, Kansas to Jerome and Pauline (Rupp) Dreher. She married Marvin "Shorty" Schumacher on May 26, 1947 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hays.Millie was a homemaker and retired from K-Mart where she worked as a cashier. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Daughters of Isabella and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by her husband, Marvin "Shorty" Schumacher of Hays; a son, Tom Schumacher and wife Debbie of Hays; three daughters, Bonnie Schenk of Hays, Gloria Pfeifer and husband Alan of Hays and Tammy Parmer and husband Sheldon of Houston; a brother, Ray Dreher of Seattle; nine grandchildren, Tracy Quinn, Jodi Keberlein, Nichole Miller, Chris Schumacher, Chandler Schumacher, Andrea Neumann, Aaron Pfeifer, Drake Pfeifer and Sagan Parmer; eight great grandchildren, Lisa and Emily Quinn, Creighton Keberlein, Gavin, Griffin and Giana Schumacher, Aiden and Brady Neumann.She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Wendelin, Elmer, Eddie, Julius and Celestine Dreher; two sisters, Amelia Schenk and Eleanor Beilman; a great granddaughter, Tia Marie Quinn and a son-in-law, Alan Schenk. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday evening and from 8:45 - 9:30 on Saturday all at Brock's North Hill Chapel 2509 Vine, Hays.Daughters of Isabella rosary will be at 6:00 P.M. Friday followed by a parish vigil service at 6:30 all at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Hays Medical Center or St. John's Rest Home of Hays.
