Mildred "Mickey" Rupp

Mildred "Mickey" Louise Rupp, age 80, of Hays, Passed away Saturday, April 24th at St. John's Rest Home in Hays. She was born on September 3, 1929 in rural Hanston, Kansas to Donald J. and Mabelle (Jordan) Bowie. She attended schools in Hodgeman County and graduated from Jetmore High School in 1947. She married Donald Louis Schauvliege on June 3, 1947. He preceded her in death in December of 1955. She married Michael M. Rupp on August 5, 1957.She was a homemaker, a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Hays Medical Center Auxiliary, a Red Cross Volunteer and a volunteer at the ARC Thrift Shop for 30 years.Mildred is survived by her husband Michael of Hays; three sons, Tim Rupp of the home, Mike Schauvliege of Walker and Chuck Schauvliege of Hays; two daughters, Jennifer Hallin and husband Gus of Durango, Colorado and Vicki Runge and husband Tom of Hays. 7 Grandchildren and 4 Great-Grandchildren also survive her.She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Jim and Jack Bowie.Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Hays. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.Visitation will be Monday 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. and Tuesday 12:30 P.M. - 1:30 P.M. all at Brock's North Hill Chapel 2509 Vine, Hays.A parish vigil service will be at 6:00 p.m. Monday followed by a rosary service at the funeral home.Contributions are suggested for masses.
