Michael Francis "Mike" Sack, age 86, of Hays, passed away at his home on Sunday, November 29th, 2009. He was born July 10, 1923 in Hays, Kansas to John M. and Catherine M. (Unrein) Sack. He graduated from Hays High School. On July 31, 1944 he married Viola Marie Degenhardt in Hays. She preceded him in death on May 23, 2006.Mike worked in the oilfield business owning ROFTCO Fishing Tool Company, which supplied pipe recovery tools in Williston, North Dakota. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Hays, Schoenchen Council 4166 3rd degree Knights of Columbus and a Bishop Cunningham Assembly 4th degree Knights of Columbus. Mike was also very involved with the Hays Senior Center serving as President.He is survived by four daughters, Carol Ann Murphy and husband John of Enid, OK., Betty Lou Holland of Laurel, MT., Mary Frances Nelsen of Greeley, CO. and Norma Jean Felice and husband Jeff of Evans, CO. 13 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren also survive him.His wife, parents and a sister, Mary Mondero, preceded him in death.Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Thursday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Hays. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.Visitation will be on Wednesday 4:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. and on Thursday 9:00 A.M. - 9:30 A.M. at Brock's North Hill Chapel Funeral Home 2509 Vine street, Hays. A parish vigil service will be at 6:00 P.M. Wednesday followed by a combined 3rd and 4th degree Knights of Columbus rosary service all at the funeral home.Memorials are suggested to Hospice at Hays Medical Center
