Michael Leon Seitz

Michael “Mike” Leon Seitz, age 66, of Hays, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2024, in Hays after battling multiple health issues for the past 15 years.

Born to Thomas Seitz Jr. and Catherine "Cotty" (Meier). Mike grew up in Hays, where he attended Hays High School and formed lasting friendships within the community. He went on to forge a career with Beechcraft in Wichita, Kansas, from which he eventually retired.

Throughout his life, Mike found joy in simple pleasures, particularly his love for plants and flowers. He had a green thumb and could often be found tending to his garden. Among his greatest sources of comfort and companionship was his cherished furbaby, Angel.

Mike is survived by his loving mother, Catherine "Cotty" Seitz-Miles; two brothers, Stephen (Deb) Seitz of Victoria, Kansas, and Frank Seitz of Derby, Kansas; three sisters, Terrie Adams of Lakewood, Colorado, Charmaine Schueler, and Michelle Braun both of Hays as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Seitz Jr.; two brothers-in-law, Dean Schueler and Bob Braun; and a nephew, C.J. Seitz.

Funeral services to honor Mike's life will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Keithley Funeral Homes and Crematory-Brock's Chapel, located at 2509 Vine in Hays, Kansas, with burial following at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Hays.

Visitation hours will take place on Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service, all at Brock's Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the C.J. Memorial Foundation (cjmemorial.com), a cause very dear to Mike's heart.

Mike will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for his gentle spirit, unwavering kindness, and the love he shared with those fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in peace.
