Marilyn King

Marilyn King, of Ellis, age 68, passed away Monday, December 6th at Hays Medical Center. She was born May 6, 1942 in Zurich, Kansas to Ben and Catherine (McGinty) Schoenberger. She married Ronald King on November 30, 1963 in Ellis. She had worked as a teacher's aide at Washington Elementary School in Ellis, a cook at Alloway's Restaurant and at St. John's Rest Home in Hays. Marilyn was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ellis. Marilyn is survived by her husband, Ronald King of Ellis; a daughter, Brenda Patterson of Hays; a son, Rodney King and wife Colleen of Ellis; two sisters, Gloria Jayne of Ellis and Sharon Sommers of Victoria; five brothers, Leonard and Bernie of Ellis, Ken of Wichita, Gene and Alvin also of Ellis. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Zach and Rhian Patterson of Hays, Robbie and Kaylee King of Ellis.She was preceded in death by her parents.Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ellis with Inurnment following in St. Mary's Cemetery. There will be a family led rosary at 9:30 A.M. Friday at the church. Arrangements in care of Keithley Funeral Chapel 400 E. 17th in Ellis. Memorial contributions are suggested toward the donor's choice.
