"J.T." John Thomas VonLintel, age 21, of Hays, passed away October 20, 2010 in Queensland, Australia the result of a farming accident. He was born on July 30, 1989 in Hays, Kansas to John and Robbie (Jeronimus) VonLintel. He graduated from TMP-Marian High School in 2007 and from the welding program at NCK in 2009. J.T. was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing and especially 4-wheeling in the mountains of Colorado with his uncle and cousins. In August J.T. decided to take on a new adventure by traveling to Australia. His plans were to work at various jobs throughout Australia currently working in the Arcadia Valley in Queensland, Australia. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hays.He is survived by his parents, John and Robbie VonLintel of Hays; a brother, Jake VonLintel of Hays currently attending Kansas State University and his grandparents, Blanche VonLintel of Hays and Ken and Judy Jeronimus of Evergreen, CO.He was preceded in death by a grandfather, Ben VonLintel and one uncle, Tom VonLintel.Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, November 4th at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Hays. Burial will follow services in St. Joseph's Cemetery.Visitation will be Wednesday 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at Brock's North Hill Chapel ~ 2509 Vine ~ Hays, KS. 67601. A parish vigil service will be Wednesday at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.Contributions are suggested to the J.T. VonLintel Memorial Fund, which will be used to establish a fishing and hunting program with Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Ellis County and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
