Jose Ramirez

Jose Ramirez, age 62, of Hays, Kansas passed away August 31, 2026 in Hays. Jose was born January 12, 1964 in Eagle Pass, Texas to Benjamin and Maria (Barrara) Ramirez.

Jose worked mostly as a landscaper and general laborer. He had lived in Rocky Ford, Colorado before moving to Garden City in 1996. In 2017 he made the move to Hays where he attended the First Baptist Church.

Although Jose had no children his nephews brought him joy with their fishing outings and sharing family time with them. He was also a loving brother of Guadalupe and devoted his time in taking care of her after the death of their mother. In Jose’s spare time he enjoyed “Dumpster Diving” and the search for treasures that others could not see.

Jose is survived by his sister, Guadalupe “Lupe” Martinez of Garden City as well as numerous special nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a niece, Christina Ramirez.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, September 26, 2026 at the Community Church 614 N. 13th Garden City, Kansas.
