Jose D. Masi

Jose D. Masi, 75, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 31, 2026, in Hays, Kansas.

Born on November 29, 1950, in Asunción, Paraguay, to Domingo and Olga (Jimenez) Masi, he was united in marriage to Janice Iannone on January 8, 1976.

Jose graduated from medical school in 1974. He served proudly in the United States Army as a pathologist for approximately a decade before moving into private practice, where he served communities in the Pacific Northwest until his retirement.

He is survived by his wife, Janice, of Hays; their children, Alexander Masi of Yakima, Washington, and Caroline (Masi) Meier, her husband Mark, and their four children of Hays; and his daughter Diesil Olga Masi Céspedes, her husband Guennantd Matvei Cuentas Zavala Eckholt, and their two children of Asunción, Paraguay.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the VFW Foundation in care of the funeral home, or directly to a local Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) post of the donor's choosing.
