John Walter Gill

John Walter Gill, age 67, of La Crosse, Kansas passed away on Friday, November 7, 2025, in La Crosse. He was born on March 7, 1958, in Nashville, Tennessee to Robert Allen Cathers and Evelyn Jean Gill.

John was a pipeline construction supervisor. His career took him throughout the world including pipelines in Abu Dhabi, Mexico and throughout the United States. John also taught drafting classes at night for Tulsa Technical College. He enjoyed doing lawn care, occasional casino trips and John Wayne movies.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry (Bevitt) Gill of the home. John and Sherry were married December 22, 2012. He is also survived by two sons, Josh Gill his wife Karissa and their children, Isabella, Parker and Lucas all of Grand Junction, Colorado, Justin Gill of Owasso, Oklahoma; a sister, Helen Crunk of Decatur, Alabama; step-sons, James Suppes and wife Brittany of Smith Center, Matthew Suppes and wife Sharon of Baldwin, Kansas; step-daughters, Amy Perry and husband Vince of Ellsworth, Kansas, Julie Hoverson and husband John of Smithville, Missouri and Christy Baalmann and husband Mark of La Crosse, Kansas. He is also survived by 2 nieces, Michelle and Rebecca Crunk; a sister-in-law, Sally Bevitt; 12 step grandchildren; and 2 step great grandchildren.

John was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Joey Bevitt.

Celebration of Life services will be 11:00 AM Sunday, November 16, 2025, followed by a celebration gathering and lunch all at the La Crosse City Auditorium, 417 Main street in La Crosse.

Private family inurnment will take place in the Locust Hill Cemetery in Rush Center, Kansas.
