John W. Dinkel, age 62, of Ellis, Passed away Friday, January 8th at his home. He was born October 24, 1947 in Hays, Kansas to Anthony and Alvina (Stecklein) Dinkel. He married Goldie Windholz on December 16, 1967 in Ellis, Kansas.John was a Brick Mason for Klaus Masonry in Hays. He was a US Army Veteran, a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the VFW. He is survived by his wife, Goldie of Ellis; three sons, Sean Dinkel and wife Lisa and children, Dylan, Marissa and Kenlie all of Hays, Eric Dinkel and wife Becky and children, Brennen and Erica all of Tulsa and Seth Dinkel of Ellis and daughter, Addison Dinkel-Neuberger of Hays; a daughter, Toni Younger and husband Bobby and children, Landon, Aspen and Bryce all of Ellis, five sisters, Theresa Giebler and husband Jim, Charlene Rupp and husband Ken and Elizabeth Hatfield all of Hays, Rosie Mermis and husband Jerry of Olathe and Barbara Schoenberger and husband Clarence of Aurora, CO. He is also survived by 49 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Frank and Norman Dinkel and a sister, Rita Sander. Funeral services will be Monday at 1:30 P.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ellis. Burial will be in the WaKeeney Veteran's Cemetery, WaKeeney, KS. Visitation will be Sunday 4:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. and Monday 12:00 - 1:00 P.M. all at Keithley Funeral Chapel, 400 E. 17th in Ellis. There will be a rosary service at 6:30 P.M. Sunday followed by a parish vigil service at 7:00 P.M. all at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Ellis County Relay For Life.
