Joann Phillips

JoAnn Phillips, age 46 of Hays, died Saturday, February 28, 2009 at the Hays Medical Center. She was born on February 26, 1963 in Hays, Kansas to Harry R. and Frances (Werth) Dreiling. She married Bryan R. Phillips on July 22, 1995 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Hays. JoAnn had worked for the City of Hays for 27 years currently as an Account Clerk. She graduated from Hays High in 1981 and she was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.She is survived by her husband, Bryan of the home; a son, Gage of the home; her father and step mother, Harry and Deborah (Trzicky) Dreiling of Hays, a brother, Jerome Dreiling of Hays; a sister, Virginia Mae Basgall and husband Steve of Hays; father and mother-in-law, Terry and Rosalie Phillips of Scott City; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Smith of Scott City and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her mother, Frances Dreiling, infant brother, Harry Dreiling Jr. and infant sister JoAnn Dreiling.Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Hays. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.Visitation will be on Monday 4:00 - 8:00 and on Tuesday 9:30 - 10:00. A vigil service will be on Monday at 6:00 followed by a rosary service all at Brock's North Hill Chapel, 2509 Vine, and Hays.Memorials are suggested to the JoAnn Phillips Memorial Fund to be used for an education fund for her son and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
