Obituary



Joan Marie Lindenmuth age 68, of Hays. Kansas, died Sunday, November 29, 2020, at the Rush County Memorial Hospital in LaCrosse, Kansas. She was born June 6, 1952, in Hays, Kansas to Balthaser "Bill" and Kathryn (Leiker) Dinkel. She married Peter I. "Pete" Lindenmuth on August 30, 1980, at Gorham, Kansas.

She worked at Hays Medical Center for 31 years in food services and retired in 2007 due to her health, being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Joan grew up in Hays and attended Hays High School, and attended the High Plains Baptist Church. She enjoyed growing and caring for her rose gardens, collecting music boxes and Precious Moments figurines.

Survivors include her husband, Pete Lindenmuth, of the home; her son, Burton Lindenmuth and wife, Malinda, Merriam, KS; one grandson, Benjamin Lindenmuth; two sisters-in-law, Margaret "Maggie" Dinkel, Wichita, KS; Shirley Brown, Indiana: two brothers-in-law, LaVern Lindenmuth and wife, Karen, Longview, TX; and Darwin Lindenmuth and wife, Diane, Woodward, OK.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Keith Dinkel, Laren Dinkel and his wife, Judy.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, December 5, 2020, at Clines-Keithley Mortuary of Hays, 1919 East 22nd Street, Hays, Kansas 67601. Burial will be in Prairie Lawn Cemetery at Gorham, Kansas.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday, and from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. Saturday, all at Clines-Keithley Mortuary of Hays.

Family suggests memorials to the Locust Grove Village Care Center of LaCrosse or the Multiple Sclerosis Society in care of the mortuary.
