Jenny Aust

Johanna "Jennie" Aust, age 100, of Ellis, passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2010 at the Ellis Good Samaritan Center. She was born on August 23, 1909 in Ellis County, Kansas to William C. And Johanna (Kroeger) Hagen. She married Jacob Aust on August 23, 1928 at Christ Lutheran Church in Ellis. He preceded her in death on January 11, 1956.Jennie was a cook for the Palco school district and the Palco Cafe. She was also a custodian at the First National Bank in Palco. She was a Senior Companion for several years in Palco and Hill City and a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Ellis.She is survived by a son, Jerold Aust and wife Mary Ann of Mobile, AL.; four daughters, Deloris Donnelly of Dodge City, Doris Coddington of Hill City, Nadine Dugan and husband John of Plainville and Nancy Tirone of Clifton, NJ.; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Aust of Phillipsburg; two sisters, Anna McConnell of Andover and Lena Groff of Arizona. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by a son, Jake Aust; two sisters, Freida Zerfas Dietz and Marie Rathbun and three brothers, William, Oscar and Ernest Hagen.Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday at St. John Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.Visitation will be Thursday 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at Keithley Funeral Chapel 400 E. 17th, Ellis and Friday 10:00 A.M. until service time at the church.Memorial contributions are suggested to the Ellis Good Samaritan Center or St. John Lutheran Church.
