Jennifer Lee (Stewart) Umiker

Jennifer Lee (Stewart) Umiker of Great Bend, Ks went to be with the Lord on June 2, 2025, in Hays, Kansas. Born on November 16, 1972, she was the beloved daughter of David Stewart and Phyllis (Spreier) Romo.

Jennifer was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She graduated from Larned Senior High School and went on to study Journalism and Photography at Barton Community College. Her deep love for the Lord guided her life, and she served Him wholeheartedly in every way she could.

In April 2001, Jennifer married the love of her life, Henry (George) Umiker, in Reno, Nevada. She was blessed to be a second mother to Jessica Lauren Umiker, James Marshall Umiker, and Caley Umiker, pouring her love and support into their lives.

Jennifer is survived by her husband George; her children Jessica, James, and Caley; her mother Phyllis (Michael) Romo; and her siblings Dallas (RaDonna) Stewart, Sandra (Duane) Feldman, Nancy (Shane) Loeb, Michael (Veronica) Romo, and Carrie Romo. She is also lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Jennifer had the biggest heart and a generous spirit. Family meant everything to her—she never missed an opportunity to organize a family dinner, birthday celebration, or gathering. Her warmth, kindness, and joyful presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her father David Stewart, her brother Clint Stewart, and her sister Pamela Romo.

Cremation has taken place at Keithley Funeral Homes and Crematory 2509 Vine Hays, KS 67601.

 A celebration of Jennifer’s life will be held by the family at a later date.
