James A. Heit, age 70, of Ellis, Kansas went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, November 4, 2024 in Ellis. He was born January 5, 1954 in Hays, Kansas to John and Dolores (Weigel) Heit.
His working career started off with the Oil Field before he made his way to the East Coast where he became a regional manager and installer with a security system company. James made his way back to the Hays area and started his company Hi-Tech Fire Alarm which specialized in maintenance, testing and installations of fire alarm systems. He retired in 2017.
James is survived by two sons, Joshua Heit and wife Mari of Redondo Beach, CA and Coady Heit and wife Kelsey and their children Caleb and Keilah all of Ellis; brothers, Jerry Heit and wife Chris of Topeka, KS, Doug Heit of Missouri and Randy Ralston and wife Kerri of Garden City, KS.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Kevin Heit.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, November 9, 2024 at Keithley Funeral Homes and Crematory-Brock's Chapel 2509 Vine Hays, KS 67601.
Visitation will be Saturday 10:00 AM until service time at Brock's Chapel.
Private family burial will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery in Gorham, Kansas.
Memorial contributions are suggested to be used according to the wishes of the family to be designated at a later date and made payable to Coady Heit.
