Jacqueline Thayer

Jacqueline J. "Jackie" Thayer, age 78, of Hays, passed away on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. She was born on July 30, 1931 in Woodston, Kansas to Verl and Vera (Miller) Idelman. She married Earl Thayer in 1951. He preceded here in death 1n 1976. Jackie worked at the Hays Good Samaritan Center as a supervisor of Laundry and Housekeeping. In 2005 she retired after 33 years receiving a longevity award for her years of service. She enjoyed cooking, crossword puzzles and her family.She is survived by a daughter, Debbie Ford of Hays; two sons, Fred Thayer (Chris) of Salina and James Thayer (Cynthia) of Hays; a sister, Carolyn Brummer of Plainville; six grandchildren, Darin Sheffer, Kenneth Walton, Andrew Thayer, Kellie Olson, Phillip Thayer and Heather Werth. 12 great grandchildren also survive her.She was preceded in death by her parents and a nephew, Danny Brummer. Services will be at 10:30 A.M. Monday, July 12th at Brock's North Hill Chapel 2509 Vine in Hays. Burial will follow in the Stockton City Cemetery. There will be no visitation prior to the service.
