Irene C. Boos

Irene C. Boos, age 90, of Ellis, passed away Friday, November 26th at her home. She was born January 14, 1920 in Pfeifer, Kansas to Anton and Barbara (Unrein) Leiker. She married Paul P. Boos on August 9, 1938 in Hays. He preceded her in death on October 18, 2004.Irene lived most of her life on a farm south of Ellis where she was a homemaker and more importantly a partner with her husband working on the family farm. She was a member of St. Mary's Church, Daughters of Isabella, and Christian Mother's She is survived by three sons, Thomas L. (Joyce) Boos of Great Bend, Dennis L. (Phyllis) Boos of Salina and Mark F. (Diane) Boos of Ellis; four daughters, Amelia " Millie" (Larry) Winterscheidt, Rita (Don R.) Younger all of Ellis, Lila (Richard) Margreiter of Browns Summit, NC and Barbara Barkley of Lindenhurst, IL. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Lucy; a son, Gerald, 5 brothers and 5 sisters.Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, November 29th at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ellis. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday 4:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. and Monday 9:00 A.M. - 9:30 A.M. all at Keithley Funeral Chapel 400 E. 17th in Ellis. A parish vigil service will be Sunday at 7:00 P.M. followed by a D of I Rosary at the funeral chapel.Contributions are suggested to St. Mary's Catholic Church.
