Iona Dinkel

Iona Dinkel, age 73 of Ellis, died Sunday, Feb. 15 at her home. She was born on Dec. 31, 1935 in Ellis County, Kansas to Jacob and Ottilia (Bittel) Kinderknecht. She married Allen F. Dinkel on November 15, 1954 in Ellis. He preceded her in death on July 17, 2007 Iona was a homemaker and had worked at the Ellis Good Samaritan Center for over 30 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Ellis.She is survived by three sons, Nick Dinkel of Denver, Andy Dinkel of Ellis and Edward Dinkel and wife Jill of Lenexa, KS., five daughters, LeAnn Rineberg and husband Rick of Silver Lake, KS., Lori Leiker and husband Rod of Hays, Dana George and husband Matthew of Wichita, Janelle Schuster and husband Kelly of Topeka and Marlene Long and husband Rusty of WaKeeney, two brothers, Ralph Kinderknecht of Ellis and Victor Kinderknecht of WaKeeney, a sister, Beatina Weber of Great Bend, ten grandchildren and two step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Allen, six brothers, Eugene, Herman, Walter, Richard, Charles and Alan and two sisters, Regina Goff and Lillian Wishnuck.Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Mary's School
