Grayson William Stewart

Grayson William Stewart, age 38, of Stockton, Kansas, died Tuesday, August 25, 2026, in Hays, Kansas. He was born April 2, 1988, in Hays to Kelly Stewart and Karla Desbien.

Grayson was raised in Stockton and graduated from Stockton High School in 2006. He continued his education at Fort Hays State University in Hays and Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado.

Grayson had a deep love for the outdoors and felt most at home when surrounded by nature. His many passions included rock climbing, snowboarding, camping, riding motorcycles, and spending time in the mountains. Wherever his adventures took him, he was often accompanied by his constant companion and beloved dog, Aries.

Professionally, Grayson worked as an installation and repair technician in the telecommunications industry, primarily working on cell phone towers. His work required skill, determination, and a willingness to take on challenges at great heights—qualities that reflected his adventurous spirit.

Grayson was also a gifted musician who found peace and comfort through music, especially while playing the guitar. Music was an important part of his life and offered him another way to express himself and enjoy the quieter moments.

Grayson will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His adventurous nature, love of the outdoors, musical talent, and the memories created with those closest to him will be cherished for years to come.

Survivors include his father, Kelly Stewart (Brenda Hampton) of Hays; his mother, Karla Desbien of Stockton; his brother, Grant Stewart of Stockton; his grandparents, Don and Connie Desbien of Palco and Delbert Stanton of Hays; together with many aunts, uncles, extended family members, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alan and Donna Stewart; his cousin, Brooke Desbien; and his unborn child. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Celebration Community Church and may be made payable to the organization or left in care of the funeral home.

A Celebration of Grayson’s Life will be held September 5th at Celebration Community Church in Hays. There will be visitation with the family at 10:00, followed by the service at 11:00 and a meal afterwards.
