Freda Lynn (Peck) Parcel, 94, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2021. Her memorial Service is pending.

Freda was born July 28, 1926 at the family farm near Greensburg, Kansas, to Ellis Raymond and Nettie Irene (Shuck) Peck. She attended Greensburg public schools and graduated from Kansas State University where she met Clair Kern Parcel. They married February 27, 1949 and moved to Coldwater, Kansas. She loved all children, gardening, and reading. Freda volunteered countless hours with Sunny Valley 4-H and Comanche County Extension Homemakers Units, Arrowhead West and P.E.O. She was a faithful member of Coldwater First Presbyterian Church, serving as Sunday School teacher, Guild member, Elder and Deacon. She volunteered at Coldwater Jr High as a Special Ed Aide. A church home was very important to her. When she chose to move to Hays, Kansas she transferred her church membership to Hays First Presbyterian Church.

Freda was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Clair K Parcel, siblings: Ruth Scott, Nina Poplinger, Robert (Bob) Peck and Merlin Peck.

Survivors include her daughters Christine Wenger and husband Kirby of Manhattan, Kansas; Dana and husband Ron Keller of Hays; Pennie and husband Gary Clevenger of Wichita Falls, Texas; Kathy and husband Fred Bloom of Liberal, Kansas; and son Dan Parcel and partner Chris Edmunds of Manhattan; grandchildren Heather Keller and husband Troy of Hays; Mark Keller and wife Tori of Castle Rock, Colorado; Amanda Martinez and husband Anthony of Jacksboro, Texas; Travis Clevenger and wife Shelby of Coleman Texas; Raygan Caballero and husband Alfonso of Gilbert, Arizona, and Wil Bloom of Liberal, Kansas; Great-grandchildren: Addison Shirk, Kaden, Kambri, Khloe, and Kruz Caballero, and Ada Martinez; sister: Neva Chastain and sisters-in-law Florence Peck and Mona Peck.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 1st at First Christian Church, Coldwater, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Comanche County 4-H, Chief Theatre in Coldwater, Hays Good Samaritan Center, or the charity of your choice.
