Franklin Mewhinney

Franklin David Mewhinney, age 60, of Hays, died Sunday, June 28th at the Hays Good Samaritan Center. He was born May 27, 1949 in Denver, Colorado to Edward and Marjorie (Speck) Mewhinney. He worked on a pulling unit in the oil fields for several years and had worked as a plumber most recently. He is survived by four sons, Anthony, Brian, Jonathan and Darin all of Hays, two daughters, April Burd of Hays and Melissa Mewhinney of Alabama, a brother, Edward Mewhinney Jr. of Pittsburgh, Kansas, two sisters, Elizabeth Mapes of Burlington, Kansas and Elsie Grogg of Holton, Kansas, two grandsons and five granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ernest Mewhinney.
