Obituary



Evelyn Marie Werth, age 97, residing at The Piper, Kansas City, Kansas passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2022 in Kansas City. She was born August 2, 1925, to Adam B. and Susie G. (Adam) Garvert. She married Edwin W. Werth on Aug. 30, 1950, in Plainville, Kansas.

She was a member of the Schoenchen Altar Society and St. Joseph Church of Hays for many years.

Survivors include five daughters: Diane Hochman, Kansas City, KS; Marilyn Davis, Missoula, MT; Janet Allington, Topeka, KS; Carol Werth, Charlotte, NC; Donna Kunkel, Overland Park, KS; five sons: Dale, Springfield, VA; Keith, Modesto, CA; Russell, Junction City, KS; Ronald, Wichita, KS; Duane, Olathe, KS; a brother: Howard Garvert, Plainville, KS; one sister: Madlyn Rietcheck, Manhattan, KS; ten grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Edwin, daughters Joyce and Dorothy, and son Norman.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 21, 2022 at St. Anthony Church, Schoenchen, KS, with Fr. Curtis Carlson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Friends may come for visitation on Thursday, October 20, 2022 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Brock's-Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 2509 Vine St., Hays, KS 67601.
